SOLD OUT! Cooking with The Wooden Spoon: Five Course Dinner showcasing Local Dairy Products
SOLD OUT!
This class has sold out, but registration for the FREE Comfort Soups is open!
Join Matt and Michelle of The Wooden Spoon to create an elevated five course dining experience, highlighting dairy products sourced locally.
Iowa County, WI and the surrounding area has a wealth of "Superstar" dairy producers! Join Matt and Michelle as we showcase some of these producers that we all know and love. Together, we will learn
* How to execute a cohesive 5 course meal that will impress guests, but not leave you exhausted
* How to master both simple and intermediate cooking techniques
* Presentation pointers for serving food and plating with style
This class is for all levels of cooking experience. Whether you are new to the kitchen or you have decades of cooking experience, you will find value in this class and have fun as we learn. You get to choose the level of interaction with which you are comfortable. There will be opportunities for "hands on" assisting with various courses. But, if you would like to observe and enjoy, that's just fine too. Whether you participate in helping with the dishes or simply sit back and enjoy, everyone will be served each of the 5 courses. Afterall, eating is the whole reason we are here!
Each student will also receive a written copy of each of the recipes made in the course along with a link to YouTube video tutorials on each recipe.
Little Elves Gift Shop
Bring the whole family for day of holiday fun!
Just Merl and A Girl will be bringing their Music and Motion program for storytime in the library, along with a reading with author Maryanne Halverson’s of her book Hungry James and Pops Too!
We’ve heard whispers that a big guy in a red suit may be stopping by the library as well - make sure you’ve got your wish list ready, we know he’s got a list ready too!
The Gift Shop will be located in the board room of the Ridgeway Community center at 208 Jarvis Street, stocked with gifts for the whole family. Volunteers will be there to help your kids shop and wrap gifts for the family while parents can browse the Ridgeway Farmer’s Market just across the hall.
Tokens will be available for purchase for $1 each, and kids can use their tokens to buy gifts, priced at 1-5 tokens each. Kids can finish up at the gift wrap station with our volunteers to take home wrapped and ready gifts for the holidays.

Garden Harvest Volunteer Shifts - August
As the garden grows, so does our need for volunteers to keep up with it. You can sign up here and choose the time(s) that work best for you. Morning picks are ideal, but help at any time of day that is convenient for you is welcome. You are welcome to keep some of your harvest as a token of appreciation for your time and effort. We will contact you with details on how to deliver the community share of your harvest, making the process as convenient as possible.
Garden Watering 6/9-6/15
Garden Watering
Volunteer to water the garden on open dates. This consists of pulling the hose to the garden, hooking up the sprinkler, turning the water on for 30-60 minutes, turning the water off, and reeling the hose back up. If this is your first time, please add a note when you sign up so we can meet you there to show you where everything is located. New signups will be posted weekly, shifts open are based on the rain/heat forecast.
Open House
Visit us during the final indoor Ridgeway Farmers Market to learn more about what we do, find ways to get involved, and more.
